Photography for me is all about genuine moments with the people you love, in the places that make you feel most alive. It is about being authentically you and being able to look back on your images in 20 years and still feel as connected as you did the day they were captured.
Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything - Aaron Siskind
I believe our photographs are our past and our future all wrapped up in one little frame. They contextualize our lives and our experiences in a way that memory can not.
When it comes down to it, documenting stories, creating those timeless images, is at the core of everything I do. Documenting your stories.
Your relationship is anything but cookie-cutter. So why should your wedding photography be?
You are up for an adventure, and so am I! You want to remember the genuine moments of connection and I love documenting them!
You want the most stunning locations for your couple photos, the best space to host your guests, the inside scoop on all things Whistler, and help carrying all your wedding essentials up a mountainside or across a river.
When you hire me you get far more than just a photographer, you get an adventure guide too! (Really, I use to guide hikes for a living).
In the over 200 weddings I have had the privilege to document, the unplanned elements are my favourites. Those moments are genuine and true to life. I make sure to capture them all.
Of course, we will get the “mantelpiece” photo for mum and dad, but mostly, I focus on documenting the stories of those in between moments that make up the day - the small details, the gestures of love, the spontaneous laughter (maybe even a snowball fight?).
The moments that may otherwise be forgotten.
My love of the outdoors, travel, and adventure pulled me from Toronto to the West Coast of Canada where I now reside in Whistler, BC. I get to play and work in some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. The Coastal Mountains dominate the skyline, blanketed below by the rich green of old growth forests. The perfect environment to unplug and reconnect with the things that matter most; nature and relationships.
Just because I found somewhere special to call home doesn't mean that I don't still like to visit new destinations. I try to get my travel on at least twice a year, and I LOVE to take on clients outside of my hometown Whistler. Check out my next destinations. Reach out for a shoot if you will be there too!
